To reach Eilean Donan Castle by car, start from the nearest major town, Kyle of Lochalsh. Head southwest on the A87 road, which will take you through scenic landscapes. Continue on this road for approximately 12 miles (20 km). As you approach Dornie, you will see signs for Eilean Donan Castle. Turn left onto the A851 and follow the signs. The castle will be on your right. There is a parking area available for visitors. Note that parking may incur a fee, which is typically around £5 for the day.

If you prefer public transportation, take a train to Kyle of Lochalsh from Inverness or Fort William, which are well-connected by rail. Upon arrival at Kyle of Lochalsh, head to the bus stop located near the station. Board the local bus heading to Dornie. The bus journey will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to check the local bus schedules in advance. Once you arrive in Dornie, the castle is just a short walk from the bus stop, and you will see it prominently situated on the shore. Bus fares generally range from £3 to £5.

For a more direct route without using public transport, consider taking a taxi from Kyle of Lochalsh to Eilean Donan Castle. Taxis are readily available at the train station.
