Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from York Minster, head southeast down Minster Yard. Continue straight until you reach the end of the road, and turn left onto Duncombe Place. Walk straight until you reach the junction with Stonegate. Turn right onto Stonegate, and continue until you reach the junction with High Petergate. Turn left onto High Petergate, and continue walking until you reach the entrance to the Museum Gardens on your right. Enter the gardens and walk towards the river, where you will find the Roman Wall along the edge. Follow the wall to explore various sections.

    If you are starting from the Shambles, exit the Shambles toward the main road (Market Street). Turn left onto Market Street and continue straight until you reach the junction with Parliament Street. Turn right onto Parliament Street and continue straight until you reach Coney Street.
