If you are starting from York Minster, exit the cathedral and head southeast on Deangate. Continue onto Duncombe Place, and then turn right onto High Petergate. Walk straight until you reach the junction with Ousegate, where you will turn left. Follow Ousegate until you reach the bridge, then cross the River Ouse. Once you are on the opposite side, continue straight onto the path leading to the city walls. Follow the walls until you see the entrance to Castlegate. St Mary's Church will be on your left at Castlegate, York YO1 9RN.
