Car
To reach Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument from Capitol Reef National Park by car, start at the Capitol Reef Visitor Center located at 1000 Highway 24, Torrey, UT 84775. Head east on Highway 24 for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 95. Turn south (right) onto Highway 95 and continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach the town of Hanksville. From Hanksville, turn east onto Highway 24 and follow it for about 28 miles to the junction with Highway 12. Take Highway 12 south (right) for about 10 miles. The entrance to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is located along Highway 12. Be sure to have a map or GPS, as cell service may be limited in the area.

If you are using public transportation, your best option is to take a Greyhound bus to Hanksville, Utah, which is the nearest town to the monument. From Hanksville, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, as public transit options are limited.
