Getting There

• Car

  From Dixie National Forest, take US-89 South towards the town of Kanab. Follow US-89 for approximately 40 miles until you reach US-6. Merge onto US-6 East towards Price. Continue on US-6 for about 70 miles. As you approach Price, take exit 240 for US-191 North. Follow US-191 North for about 10 miles until you see signs for Manti-La Sal National Forest. Turn left onto Forest Road 007. This road will lead you into the forest. Note: There may be state park entrance fees depending on specific areas you visit.

• Public Transportation

  If traveling via public transportation, start by taking a bus from a transit station in Dixie National Forest to the nearest city, such as Cedar City or St. George. From there, take a Greyhound or similar bus to Price, Utah. Upon arriving in Price, you will need to hire a taxi or rideshare service to reach Manti-La Sal National Forest, as public transportation does not service the forest directly. Expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare service, which may vary based on distance.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking from Dixie National Forest to Manti-La Sal National Forest is a possibility. Starting from the nearest point in Dixie National Forest, cycle along the scenic routes of US-89 and US-6. Note that this will be a long ride (approximately 110 miles) and will require ample preparation, including water, food, and appropriate gear. Be cautious of traffic, especially on highways. Plan to camp or stay at lodgings along the route to break up the journey.
