To reach Escalante Petrified Forest State Park by car from anywhere within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, head toward the town of Escalante, Utah. If you are at the visitor center in the monument, take UT-12 E for about 30 miles. Once you reach Escalante, turn onto Reservoir Rd. The park entrance will be located at 710 Reservoir Rd, Escalante, UT 84726. Ensure you have a map or GPS device handy as cell service can be limited in this area.

Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. The nearest major city with bus services is Kanab, about 70 miles away. From Kanab, you can take a Greyhound or similar service to Escalante. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as services may not be frequent. Once in Escalante, you will need to arrange for local taxi services or rideshare apps, if available, to reach the park, as it is approximately 3 miles away from the town center.

For the more adventurous, biking to Escalante Petrified Forest State Park is an option. From the monument, take UT-12 E towards Escalante. This route is approximately 30 miles and is suitable for experienced cyclists due to traffic and elevation changes. Be sure to wear a helmet, bring water, and check the weather before heading out. Once you arrive in Escalante, follow Reservoir Rd to the park entrance.
