Walking
From Apostolic Palace, exit onto Via della Conciliazione. Head southeast towards Piazza San Pietro. Continue straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across, turn left and follow the riverbank until you reach Ponte Umberto I. Cross this bridge and turn right onto Via del Corso. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Piazza Venezia. From there, take Via di San Pietro in Carcere and continue until you reach the Colosseum, which will be on your left.
Public Transport - Bus
From Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest bus stop at 'Piazza San Pietro'. Catch bus number 87 towards 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore'. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes, and get off at the stop 'Colosseo'. From the bus stop, the Colosseum will be directly in front of you.
Public Transport - Metro
Head to the nearest metro station from Apostolic Palace, which is 'Ottaviano - San Pietro'. Take Line A (the orange line) towards 'Anagnina'. Change at 'Termini' station to Line B (the blue line) towards 'Laurentina'. Get off at 'Colosseo' station. Exit the metro, and you will see the Colosseum directly ahead.
