From the Apostolic Palace, exit onto the Via della Conciliazione. Walk straight down this road until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across, continue straight along Via di Panico until you reach Piazza Navona. From Piazza Navona, head towards Via del Corso, turn left, and continue walking until you reach the Spanish Steps located at Piazza di Spagna.

Start at the nearest bus stop to the Apostolic Palace. Take Bus 81 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. Get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, walk up Via del Corso until you reach the intersection with Via dei Condotti. Turn right onto Via dei Condotti, and you will arrive at Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps.
