Getting There

Walking
From the main entrance of the Apostolic Palace, head towards the Vatican Museums. As you exit, turn right onto Viale Vaticano. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach Piazza San Pietro. Here, you will see the iconic St. Peter's Basilica. From Piazza San Pietro, walk towards the left side of the Basilica and follow the path leading to Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking down this road, and you will arrive at the Tiber River. Cross the Ponte Sant'Angelo (the bridge) to reach the opposite bank.

Starting at the Apostolic Palace, exit and go straight ahead to Via del Vaticano. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via dei Corridori. Turn left and proceed until you reach the large open area of Piazza San Pietro. From there, head northeast towards the Tiber River, and look for signs directing you towards Ponte Cestio. This will take you directly to the bridge.

From the Apostolic Palace, walk to the nearest metro station, Ottaviano (Line A). Take the metro in the direction of Anagnina and get off at the next stop, Lepanto. Upon exiting the station, walk towards the Tiber River and follow the signs directing you to Ponte Cestio. The total travel time will be around 15-20 minutes.
