From the Sistine Chapel, exit the Vatican Museums and head towards the Vatican City exit. Once outside, walk straight towards the main road, Via di Porta Angelica. Turn left onto Via di Porta Angelica and keep walking until you reach Piazza San Pietro. Continue walking through the square towards the colonnades until you reach the end of the square. From there, take Via della Conciliazione straight ahead until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across, continue straight on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, which turns into Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
