Nature's Retreat: Quechee State Park

Getting There

• Car

  From any location in the Green Mountains National Forest, head towards Route 4. If you're in the southern part of the forest, you can take Route 100 north until it intersects with Route 4. If you're coming from the north, take Interstate 89 south to Route 4. Once on Route 4, continue heading east towards Quechee. After about 15 miles, look for signs for Quechee State Park. Turn onto Quechee State Park Road, and follow it to the park entrance at 1 Quechee State Park, Hartford, VT 05001.

• Public Transportation

  If you're traveling via public transportation, take a Greyhound or Megabus to White River Junction, VT. From White River Junction, you can catch the local Advance Transit bus (Route 3) towards Quechee. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may be limited, especially on weekends. The bus will take you to the nearest stop to Quechee State Park, and from there, it's about a 1-mile walk to the park entrance at 1 Quechee State Park, Hartford, VT 05001.

• Bicycle

  For those interested in cycling, you can bike from nearby towns such as Woodstock or Hartford. Take local roads to connect to Route 4, then follow the same route described for cars. Be aware that traffic can be busy on Route 4, so use caution. Once you reach Quechee State Park Road, turn right and follow it to the park entrance.
