From Vientiane, take Route 13 south towards Paksan. After approximately 130 km, you will reach Paksan. Continue on Route 12 towards Tha Khaek. After about 90 km, turn left onto Route 8. Follow Route 8 for about 60 km until you reach the town of Nakai. From Nakai, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Nakai-Nam Theun National Park. Please note that road conditions can vary, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for rural travel.

From Vientiane, take a bus to Paksan. Buses leave regularly and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Paksan, catch a bus heading towards Tha Khaek. This ride will take around 1.5-2 hours. In Tha Khaek, find a local bus or shared taxi to Nakai. The final leg of your journey may require negotiating a fare with a taxi or motorbike taxi to reach Nakai-Nam Theun National Park.
