Getting There

    From the Danville Transit Station, board Bus Line 2 heading towards the Walnut Creek area. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes, then disembark at the Walnut Creek BART Station. From there, transfer to Bus Line 10 towards the Ygnacio Valley area. After about 15 minutes, get off at the Bancroft Road stop. The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

    If you are close to downtown Danville, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the garden. Start at the intersection of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue. Head northwest on Hartz Avenue until you reach the Danville Library. Continue walking on Hartz Avenue, which turns into Green Valley Road. Follow Green Valley Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach Bancroft Road. Turn right onto Bancroft Road, and the Ruth Bancroft Garden will be on your left after about 0.5 miles.

    For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop near Danville’s downtown. Start at the Danville Bike Path and head towards the Iron Horse Trail. Cycle on the trail for about 3 miles towards Walnut Creek. When you reach the intersection with Ygnacio Valley Road, turn left and follow Ygnacio Valley Road for about 1 mile. Turn right onto Bancroft Road, and after about 0.25 miles, you will find the Ruth Bancroft Garden on your right.
