Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the downtown area of Petersburg, start by heading east on E Washington St toward S Sycamore St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with S Sycamore St, where you will turn left. Walk north on S Sycamore St until you reach E Bank St, then turn right. Continue walking east on E Bank St until you reach S Crater Rd. Turn left onto S Crater Rd and walk until you reach the bus stop at the Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) stop. Board Bus Route 1 towards Richmond. The bus will take you directly to Richmond. Disembark at the stop closest to 800 E Broad St, which is near the Capitol District. From there, walk east on E Broad St until you reach the Library of Virginia at 800 E Broad St.

    From the center of Petersburg, make your way to the nearest PAT bus stop. Board the bus on Route 1 heading towards Richmond. During your ride, enjoy the scenery as you travel towards the city. Once you arrive in Richmond, get off at the nearest stop to 800 E Broad St. Walk east on E Broad St for a few blocks until you reach the Library of Virginia located at 800 E Broad St, which will be on your right.

Follow the signs for the bike route leading to Richmond.
