Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Martinsburg, start at the intersection of King Street and Queen Street. Head north on Queen Street until you reach the intersection with East Stephen Street. Turn left onto East Stephen Street and continue until you reach the intersection with North 4th Street. Turn right onto North 4th Street and walk until you reach the intersection with West Virginia Avenue. Here, you will find a public bus stop for the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (EPTA) routes. Take the EPTA bus Route 1 towards Inwood. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the stop near the intersection of Whitings Neck Road and Winchester Avenue. From there, walk east on Whitings Neck Road for about 1 mile, and you will see the entrance to Yankauer Nature Preserve on your left at 438 Whitings Neck Rd.

  • Biking

    Starting from the Martinsburg Public Library located at 101 W King St, head east on King Street toward North Queen Street. Continue straight as King Street turns into East Race Street. Bike towards North 4th Street and turn right. After a few blocks, you will reach the intersection with West Virginia Avenue where there is a bike rack. Lock your bike here and take the EPTA bus Route 1 towards Inwood. After about 15 minutes, disembark at the stop near Whitings Neck Road. Proceed on foot east along Whitings Neck Road for approximately 1 mile to reach Yankauer Nature Preserve at 438 Whitings Neck Rd.

  • Public Transit

    From the main bus terminal in Martinsburg, catch the EPTA bus Route 1 towards Inwood. The bus runs at regular intervals, so check the schedule at the terminal. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the Whitings Neck Road stop. Once you disembark, walk east along Whitings Neck Road for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at the Yankauer Nature Preserve located at 438 Whitings Neck Rd.
