If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Duluth, MN. Head northeast on MN-23 E toward I-35 N. Merge onto I-35 N and continue for about 3 miles. Then take exit 256 for MN-61 N toward Two Harbors. Continue on MN-61 N for approximately 18 miles. Look for signs for the Clifton-French River Historical Marker, which will be located along the roadside near the river. There is no designated parking, so park safely along the roadside.
