This was overall a once in a lifetime experience. The places we visited were all worth it and the company most of the time was really nice. Unfortunately though to food was not up to par, nor was the accommodation. It was extremely hot inside of the tents and there was no way to regulate the temperature. The toilets and the showers smelt putrid, and honestly, they were not the best. We took the dromedaries for the final stretch to the accommodation, which was nice, but I am not sure the animals appreciated it much. We are glad to have booked this activity but would not do it again or recommend someone spending more than one night there in these conditions

One of the guys who worked at the desert camp made me uncomfortable, doing things like touching my face in an overly friendly way. I also don't think they treat the camels well. One was groaning and shaking and clearly in distress. It threw up before we did the camel tour. We asked the guide if we could get a different camel and not make the sick one carry us but he laughed and said the Berbers work harder than the camels. The whole group was uncomfortable. Our driver was great and the desert accommodations were comfortable.

The drive was long and windey, but worth it to see the amazing canyons, beautiful stars in the desert Zagora and live the Berber style . Would highly recommend Merzouga Dunes Company!!!

On the first day we leave Marrakech behind at 8 am, on the road to Zagora. On the way we pass through the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass, a road which crosses the High Atlas 2260 metres up, and from where various Berber villages can be seen. Having made a brief stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, we continue on the way to Zagora, crossing the Anti Atlas and seeing the Berber village of Agdez, the Draâ Valley and its palm grove, the last sign of vegetation before entering the desert. The tour arrives in Zagora with enough time to ride a camel and enjoy the desert sunset, and having eaten a traditional dinner we spend the night in an authentic Berber tent with a drum show.

Waking up early on day 2 to enjoy an unmissable sight: daybreak in the desert. After the sun has risen, and having eaten a good breakfast, we return to Zagora by camel to continue the trip Once again we pass through the Draâ Valley and Agdez to arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will visit the Taourit Kasbah or the Atlas studios. In the afternoon we leave back on the road to Marrakech. You may eat in Ouarzazate or on the road. The tour arrives back in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
