Afterwards, we will continue the tour heading towards Sintra, a magical town located only 30 km from the capital, which was the summer residence of the Portuguese royal families for centuries. Sintra reflects the perfect symbiosis between the lush nature and its magnificent monuments, having been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Park and National Palace of Pena
During the tour, you will visit the marvellous Pena Palace, undoubtedly the greatest example of the Portuguese Romanticism period of the XIX century, which crowns Sintra’s Mountain and offers a stunning view of the surrounding landscape and the Atlantic Ocean.

Sintra
You will wander through the streets of its historical centre and taste its local sweets, such as the delicious travesseiros and queijadas.
Cascais
Then, we will take you to the ocean front to visit Cascais, a summer destination of the Portuguese monarchy and aristocracy, from the end of the XIX century onwards, and a haven for exiled European royalty, during the World War II. It is a glamourous and charming town, with sumptuous palaces that embellish its bay and contrast with the countless fishermen boats. We invite you to savour its local cuisine, especially seafood and fresh fish.
Estoril

Lisbon
We will arrive later at the last stop of this tour, Belém, from where the brave Portuguese navigators set sail to discover new worlds in the XV and XVI centuries. You will visit the imposing Hieronymites’ Monastery and the magnificent Torre de Belém, built in the XV century, by the king D. Manuel I, and awarded as world heritage by UNESCO. They are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful jewels of the Manueline, the Portuguese architectural style that inherited its name of the aforementioned monarch. You will also get to know the Monument to the Discoveries, a modern monument dating from the XX century, which evokes the glory of that golden age of the national history.
Lisbon
This tour wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t taste the famous Belém’s custard tarts, one of the specialties of the old Portuguese pastry, whose secret recipe comes from the XIX century and remains the same until today. Bon appétit.
