    From Birmingham, travel south on I-65 to exit 246 for AL-119/Cahaba Valley Rd. Turn right onto AL-119 S, then left onto Oak Mountain Park Rd. At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto John Findlay Dr, then right onto Terrace Dr to enter the park. Alternatively, a new entry gate is available off Highway 280 on Belcher Drive, across from North Shelby Baptist Church. Entrance fees are $5 per adult (ages 12-61), $2 for children (ages 4-11) and seniors (ages 62+). Children 3 and under, active military, retired military, and veterans are free. Pelham residents receive discounted admission. Parking is available throughout the park, but lots near popular trailheads fill up quickly, especially on weekends. A new parking lot with 75+ spaces is available near the Belcher Drive entrance.

    While there is no direct public transportation to Oak Mountain State Park, you can take a bus to a nearby location and then use a ride-sharing service to reach the park. From the Birmingham Greyhound station, a ride-sharing service to the park will cost approximately $25-$35. Keep in mind that ride-sharing availability may be limited, especially during off-peak hours. Once inside the park, you will still need to pay the standard entrance fee of $5 per adult (ages 12-61), $2 for children (ages 4-11) and seniors (ages 62+).
