Getting There

• Car

  From Cahaba Valley, head southwest on Cahaba Valley Rd toward US-119 S. Turn left onto US-119 S and follow it for approximately 5 miles. Take the exit toward I-65 S and merge onto I-65 S. Continue on I-65 S for about 10 miles. Take exit 246 for AL-119 S toward Pelham. Continue on AL-119 S for around 2.5 miles, then turn right onto Oak Mountain State Park entrance. Follow the signs to the Peavine Falls parking area. Note that there may be a parking fee for accessing the park, typically around $5.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Cahaba Valley to Birmingham. From there, take a bus towards Pelham. Once you arrive in Pelham, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Oak Mountain State Park. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary throughout the day. Additionally, there may be transportation costs associated with the bus and taxi rides.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous cyclist, you can bike to Peavine Falls. Start from Cahaba Valley and follow the same route as if you were driving. Take Cahaba Valley Rd to US-119 S, then continue to AL-119 S and follow the signs to Oak Mountain State Park. Be prepared for a challenging ride, as some stretches may have steep inclines. Ensure your bike is in good working condition, and remember to wear a helmet.
