    The American Village is located at 3727 Highway 119 in Montevallo, Alabama. It's easily accessible from Interstate 65. Take Exit 234 (Shelby County Airport). Follow Highway 87 (which turns into Highway 12) for approximately 1.5 miles to the second traffic light. Turn right onto Highway 22 and travel 2-3 miles to the traffic light. Turn left onto Highway 119 South (Ralph Sears Memorial) and travel one mile; the entrance to The American Village will be on the right. Parking is available on-site. There is no fee for parking.

Step back in time at the American Village, a unique and engaging attraction dedicated to teaching the principles of American liberty and self-government. Located on 188 acres in Montevallo, Alabama, just 30 minutes south of Birmingham, this living history museum offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. The American Village features more than 20 historically inspired structures, including replicas of iconic buildings such as Washington Hall (inspired by Mount Vernon), the Colonial Courthouse, the Colonial Chapel (inspired by Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg), and a full-sized replica of the Oval Office. Visitors can also explore the National Veterans Shrine and Register of Honor, a tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. The newest addition is the West Wing of Independence Hall, which offers a multi-sensory experience called “Choosing to be an American People”. Costumed historical interpreters bring the past to life through interactive programs and performances. Visitors can encounter figures such as George and Martha Washington, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and Abigail Adams, and participate in reenactments of key events from the American Revolution. Special events are held throughout the year, including celebrations for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day. The annual Festival of Tulips, held in the spring, offers a beautiful display of over 100,000 tulips with historic replicas as a backdrop. The American Village was founded by Thomas G. Walker, who began advocating for its creation in 1993. The American Village Citizenship Trust was chartered in 1995, and the village officially opened on November 30, 1999. The mission is to strengthen and renew the foundations of American liberty and self-government through citizenship education.
