    From the center of Berat, taxis are readily available. A taxi ride to Nurellari Winery, located in Fushë-Peshtan, typically takes around 15-20 minutes. Taxis are a relatively cheap, comfortable and reliable way to get around. Expect to pay around 1800 ALL for a 5km ride. Ensure the driver uses a taximeter or negotiate the fare beforehand.

  • Walking

    While walking to Nurellari Winery is not practical from Berat city center due to the distance (approximately 6km), if you are in the village of Peshtan, it is a pleasant walk. From the center of Peshtan, follow the main road towards Fushe. The winery is well-signposted. Be aware that there are no sidewalks for pedestrians.

  • Public Transport

    From Berat's bus terminal, you can take a local bus towards the eastern part of the city. Get off near Peshtan. From there, you may need to take a taxi or walk to the winery. A bus ticket within the city costs approximately 40 Lek. Buses may not adhere strictly to published schedules.

The winery, established in 1995, is set on a plateau bordered by the Osum River and the fields of Mount Tomorr. Originally a communist-era food warehouse, the main building has been restored with modern features. Nurellari Winery prides itself on sustainable practices and the use of indigenous grape varieties, nurtured under the Mediterranean sun. The hand-picked grapes are fermented in large steel tanks in the old warehouse. Visitors can explore the bottling plant and descend into the wine cellar. The winery produces wines from both indigenous grapes like Serina and Pulës, and international varieties. The tasting room offers a cozy ambiance with panoramic vineyard views, where visitors can savor the wines paired with traditional Albanian delicacies. Guided tours provide insights into the winemaking process, from grape cultivation to bottling. The winery also produces grape brandy and walnut-flavored brandy. Opened in May 2019, the guesthouse offers six rooms with individual styles. Nurellari Winery is more than just a winery; it's an immersive experience into the heart and soul of Albanian winemaking traditions.
