Getting There

    Start at the Gjirokastër Castle, which is a prominent landmark in the city. From the castle entrance, head down towards the main road (Rruga Ismail Kadare) and turn left. Continue walking along this road until you reach the intersection with Rruga Jani Vreto. Turn right onto Rruga Jani Vreto and continue straight. Follow this road as it curves, and keep an eye out for signs directing you towards historical sites. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will come to a small path on your left leading uphill towards the Ruins of the Meçite, which is located at coordinates 40.0763497 latitude and 20.1408594 longitude.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Ethnographic Museum, start there and head southwest. Walk along Rruga Hoxha Tahsim, which will take you towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn right and continue until you reach Rruga Jani Vreto. From there, follow the same directions as mentioned above to reach the Ruins of the Meçite.

    From the city center (Plaza), walk towards Rruga Dervish Hima. Continue straight until you hit the main road, then turn left onto Rruga Ismail Kadare. After walking for about 500 meters, turn right onto Rruga Jani Vreto. Follow the road until you find the path leading up to the Ruins of the Meçite. The ruins will be on your left after a short uphill walk.
