Getting There

  • Car

    From the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, start at the Grand Canyon Village. Take AZ-64 E for approximately 28 miles until you reach the junction with US-89. Merge onto US-89 S and drive for about 48 miles. Turn left onto AZ-389 which you will follow for about 32 miles. At the end of AZ-389, take the right turn onto Toroweap Road (also known as Tuweep Road). Note that this is a dirt road and requires a high-clearance vehicle. Drive approximately 61 miles on Toroweap Road until you reach the Toroweap Overlook parking area. The road can be rough, so take it slow and be cautious of any obstacles.

  • Public Transportation

    There is no direct public transportation to Toroweap Overlook. The closest major town is St. George, UT. From St. George, you can rent a car to drive to Toroweap. Follow the directions above from the South Rim. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle service from Grand Canyon Village to a nearby location and then arrange for a rental car from there. Be aware that rental services might not be available directly at the park.

  • Hiking/Backpacking

    For experienced hikers, you can attempt to hike to Toroweap Overlook from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
