Getting There

Walking

The Bright Angel Trailhead is located just west of Bright Angel Lodge in Grand Canyon Village. From most locations in the village, including the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, the trailhead is accessible by foot. Follow the signs towards Bright Angel Lodge and then continue west. The trailhead is well-marked and easy to find. Be aware that the walk from the Visitor Center is approximately 1 mile and may take 20-30 minutes.
Public Transport

The free Village Route (Blue Route) shuttle bus provides access to the Bright Angel Trailhead from various points in Grand Canyon Village, including the Visitor Center and Maswik Lodge. Get off at the Bright Angel Lodge stop. Check the National Park Service website for the current shuttle schedule. The bus runs every 20 minutes. This service is free.
Parking

Limited parking is available near the Bright Angel Trailhead behind the Bright Angel Lodge cabins. This lot often fills early in the morning. Alternative parking is available at the Backcountry Information Center (Lot D) or near Maswik Lodge, a 5-10 minute walk to the trailhead. Parking is free. Another option is to park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and take the free Village Route (Blue Route) shuttle bus to the trailhead.
