The trailhead provides access to a network of trails that wind through the Granite Dells, a landscape characterized by massive, rounded granite boulders formed over 1.4 billion years. These trails offer a variety of experiences, from easy strolls to more challenging rock scrambles, accommodating hikers and bikers of all skill levels. The dam and lake are named after the president of the Hassayampa Alfalfa Company of Indiana. The nearby Flume Trail gets its name from an elevated chute used to irrigate a large peach orchard in the early 1900s. Today, the trails offer breathtaking views of Watson Lake and the surrounding Dells.
