Discover more about Palace Restaurant & Saloon

The Palace Restaurant & Saloon, located on historic Whiskey Row in Prescott, Arizona, stands as the oldest bar and restaurant in the state. Opened in 1877, it has witnessed the town's evolution and has become a significant landmark. The Palace Saloon wasn't just a bar; it served as a community hub where locals checked work notices, bought and sold mineral claims, and even cast their votes. During its early days, the Palace was frequented by famous figures like Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, and Doc Holliday. Legend has it that Wyatt Earp was involved in gunfights behind the saloon, and Doc Holliday once won $10,000 playing poker on Whiskey Row. In 1900, a devastating fire swept through Whiskey Row, destroying the original Palace. However, loyal patrons rescued the ornately carved Brunswick bar, which remains in use today. The saloon was rebuilt in 1901, later also featuring a Chinese restaurant and barber shop. Today, the Palace Restaurant & Saloon continues to offer an immersive experience of the Old West. The staff dresses in period costumes, and the walls are adorned with historical artifacts. The menu features classic American fare, with options ranging from steak bites and brisket tacos to fresh Atlantic salmon. The Palace provides live music and a lively atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for history buffs and anyone seeking a taste of the Wild West.
