Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Sedona, head south on AZ-179 S towards I-17 S. Merge onto I-17 S and continue for about 12 miles. Take exit 298 for AZ-260 toward Cottonwood/Payson. Turn left onto AZ-260 E and continue for approximately 10 miles. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 618, and follow the signs to Montezuma Well. The entrance will be on your right.

    From Cottonwood, take AZ-89A N heading towards Sedona. After about 8 miles, turn left onto AZ-260 E. Continue on AZ-260 E for about 6 miles, then turn right onto Forest Service Road 618. Follow the signs to Montezuma Well, which will be on your right.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a shuttle service from Sedona to Cottonwood. Once in Cottonwood, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Montezuma Well, as public transportation options are limited in that area. The ride from Cottonwood to Montezuma Well will take approximately 15-20 minutes.

    If you are coming from Flagstaff, take I-17 S towards Phoenix. After about 30 miles, take exit 298 for AZ-260 toward Cottonwood/Payson. Turn left onto AZ-260 E and drive for about 10 miles. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 618, and follow the signs to Montezuma Well, located on your right.
