From the center of Tonto National Forest, head towards Strawberry, AZ. Take AZ-87 N towards Payson for approximately 30 miles, then turn left onto Fossil Creek Road (FR 708). Follow Fossil Creek Road for about 10 miles; it will lead you to the trailhead for Fossil Springs Wilderness. Parking may be limited, and a parking fee may be applicable, so be sure to check for any posted signs. The road can be rough in places, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended.
