Getting There

Walking
Starting from the main square of Alaverdi, head east on Aghmashenebeli Street. Walk for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Tumanian Street. Turn left onto Tumanian Street and continue walking for another 600 meters. You'll see a sign pointing towards Alaverdi Monastery. Follow the sign as it leads you onto a dirt path that will take you uphill. The monastery is located about 1 kilometer up this path, and you will see the stunning structure as you approach.

From the main square of Alaverdi, find the nearest bus stop where local minibuses (marshrutkas) operate. Look for a bus heading towards the direction of Akhmeta. Board the bus and inform the driver that you want to get off at Alaverdi Monastery. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signposts leading up to the monastery, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
