The museum, which opened in 1981 on the 10th anniversary of Sevak's death, is located near his home and tombstone, offering an intimate look into his life and literary contributions. The museum displays a diverse collection of Sevak's personal belongings, photographs, manuscripts, and books. A large fresco by artist Sarkis Muradyan depicts Sevak's life, contemporaries, and family. The exhibits showcase Sevak's journey as a writer and his impact on Armenian identity. Returning from his native village, Sevak and his wife Nelly were in a car accident on June 17, 1971. Nelly died on the spot, and Sevak later died in the hospital. They are buried together in the center of his garden, under his father's apricot tree.
