Nestled in the village of Zangakatun, the Paruyr Sevak House-Museum pays homage to the renowned Armenian poet, Paruyr Sevak. Opened in 1981, on the 10th anniversary of the poet's death, the museum is located adjacent to his family home, in a garden planted by Sevak and his father. Here, visitors can explore the world of Paruyr Sevak, gaining insight into his life, his literary contributions, and his impact on Armenian culture. The museum houses a collection of over 1,982 objects, including personal belongings, manuscripts, documents, books, and photographs. One of the highlights is a large fresco by Sargis Muradyan, depicting significant moments in Sevak's life and work, along with his contemporaries. The exhibits also recreate Sevak's Yerevan office, showcasing his desk, typewriter, and other personal items. Outside, visitors can pay their respects at Sevak's tomb, located in the "Garden of Eden," where he is buried alongside his wife, Nelly Menagarishvili. The museum not only celebrates Sevak's legacy but also serves as a cultural center, promoting Armenian literature and arts.
