From Shikahogh State Reserve, take the road towards the village of Gilanlar. Continue on this road for approximately 15 km until you reach the intersection with the M-4 highway. Turn left onto the M-4 highway and continue for about 7 km. Look for the signs indicating Geghard Monastery; follow the signs that will lead you to a smaller road. The monastery is located at coordinates 40.1404412, 44.8185299. There is parking available near the entrance.

Start at the nearest bus station to Shikahogh State Reserve. Take a bus heading towards Yerevan, asking the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop for Geghard Monastery. This might involve transferring to another local minibus (marshrutka) that goes directly to the monastery. Ensure to check the bus schedules, as they might vary; the cost for the bus ride is approximately 500 AMD. Once you arrive, it is a short 1 km walk to the monastery entrance.
