Walking
If you're starting from the Cairns Esplanade, head north along the Esplanade towards the Cairns Lagoon. Continue walking along the Esplanade until you reach the intersection with Abbott Street. Turn left onto Abbott Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Collins Avenue. Turn right onto Collins Avenue. The Cairns Botanic Gardens will be on your left at 78-96 Collins Ave, Edge Hill. The walk is approximately 30 minutes and is scenic, taking you through the heart of Cairns City.

Public Bus
From the Cairns Central Station, head to the nearest bus stop located on Lake Street. Look for the public bus routes that head towards Edge Hill. The bus service runs regularly, and you can take bus number 110 or 111, which will take you directly to the stop nearest to the Botanic Gardens. The fare is approximately AUD 3.50 for a one-way trip. Once you get off at the Collins Avenue stop, it's a short walk of about 5 minutes to the entrance of the gardens.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops near the Esplanade. After renting, head north towards the Cairns Lagoon, then take Abbott Street as previously described. Continue onto Collins Avenue; the journey will take around 15-20 minutes.
