If you are driving, start from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, which is located at 40338 Cradle Mountain Rd, Cradle Mountain TAS 7306. From the Visitor Centre, head south on Cradle Mountain Road. After approximately 6 kilometers, you will reach a sign for the Crater Lake car park on the left. Park your vehicle at the designated car park.

After parking at the Crater Lake car park, follow the clearly marked Crater Lake Circuit walking track. The track is approximately 6 kilometers and typically takes around 2 hours to complete. It is a moderately challenging hike with some steep sections. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water. The trail leads directly to the Crater Lake Lookout.
