If you are driving, start from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, located at 4038 Cradle Mountain Road, Cradle Mountain TAS 7306. From the Visitor Centre, follow the signs to Dove Lake. The drive is approximately 20 minutes (13 km). The road is well-maintained but may be winding, so drive cautiously. Upon arrival at Dove Lake car park, you may need to pay a parking fee of around AUD 16 for a day pass (check for updates). After parking, you can walk the short distance (approximately 10 minutes) to the Dove Lake Boatshed, following the clearly marked walking paths.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, you can take the shuttle bus service available from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The shuttle operates regularly and has a fee of approximately AUD 15 for a return trip to Dove Lake. The ride to Dove Lake takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Dove Lake car park, follow the walking paths to reach the Dove Lake Boatshed, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus drop-off point.
