Car
From the main entrance of Mount Field National Park, head southwest on Mount Field Road towards the junction with Gordon River Road. Continue on Mount Field Road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the T-junction at the junction with the Lyell Highway (A10). Turn left onto the Lyell Highway and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Take the exit towards Stowport and follow the signs to Fern Glade Platypus Reserve, which is located on Fernglade Road. The reserve is approximately 2 kilometers down Fernglade Road, and there is a parking area available for visitors.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Hobart to the town of New Norfolk. From New Norfolk, transfer to a bus heading towards Mount Field National Park. Once you reach the park, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Fern Glade Platypus Reserve, which is about 15 kilometers away. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently.
