Car
If you are driving, navigate to the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Upon entering the park, follow the signs leading to Dove Lake. The drive from the visitor centre to Dove Lake is approximately 20 minutes and covers about 15 km. There is a parking area at Dove Lake where you can leave your car before starting the Dove Lake Circuit walk. Be aware that there is a park entry fee of approximately AUD 24 per vehicle for a day pass.

Public Transportation
For those relying on public transport, you can take a bus from Launceston or Hobart to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The bus service is operated by Tassie Link, and you should check their schedule in advance to ensure timely arrival. From the Visitor Centre, you can either walk the 6 km (approximately 1.5 hours) to Dove Lake following the well-marked path or take a shuttle bus (if available) that connects the Visitor Centre to Dove Lake. The shuttle may incur a small additional cost, so check current rates.

If you are in the park and at the Visitor Centre, you can make use of the shuttle service that runs to Dove Lake. The shuttle typically operates every half hour and is convenient for those who prefer not to walk the 6 km. The cost for the shuttle is usually around AUD 15 per person for a return trip.
