To reach Wombat State Forest from Ningaloo Reef, you will need to drive. Start by heading south on the North West Coastal Highway (National Route 1) towards Perth. After about 1,200 kilometers, take the exit for the Western Highway (M8) towards Ballarat. Continue on the M8 for approximately 90 kilometers, and then take the exit for the Calder Freeway (M79) towards Melbourne. As you approach Melbourne, follow signs for the M80 Ring Road. Merge onto the M79 again and follow it until you reach the exit for Woodend. From Woodend, follow local signs towards Ashbourne. Finally, navigate to Corner Track in Ashbourne, where Wombat State Forest is located. Please expect travel costs for fuel, which can vary based on your vehicle's efficiency and current fuel prices.
