Car
To reach Japoon National Park by car from Brisbane, take the M1 Motorway north towards the Sunshine Coast. Continue following signs for the M1 until you reach the intersection with the A1. Merge onto the A1 and head north. Continue on the A1 for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach Innisfail. From Innisfail, take the Bruce Highway (A1) to the exit for the Palmerston Highway (B100) towards Millaa Millaa. Follow the B100 for about 40 minutes until you see signs for Japoon National Park. The park entrance is located near Gulngai, QLD 4856.
Public Transportation
If traveling by public transportation, start by taking a Greyhound bus from Brisbane to Innisfail, which takes approximately 22 hours. From Innisfail, hire a taxi or ride-sharing service to reach Japoon National Park, which is about a 30-minute drive away. Expect to pay a fare of around AUD 50-70 for the taxi ride. It is advisable to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary.
Car Rental
For those who prefer flexibility, consider renting a car in Brisbane. Major rental companies operate at the Brisbane Airport. After picking up your rental car, follow the same driving directions as mentioned above.
