Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head towards Ridgeway from the main highways in Tasmania. From Hobart, take the Southern Outlet (A6) and continue for approximately 15 kilometers. Take the exit towards Ridgeway Road. Follow Ridgeway Road for about 5 kilometers until you see the entrance to Waterworks Reserve on your left. There is parking available at the reserve. Note that there is no entry fee.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Waterworks Reserve using public transport, you can take a Metro Tasmania bus from Hobart City. Catch the bus number 610 from the Elizabeth Street bus terminal towards Kingston. Get off at the stop near Ridgeway Road. From there, it is a short 1.5-kilometer walk to the reserve entrance. Make sure to check the Metro Tasmania website for the latest schedules. The bus fare is approximately AUD 3.50.

  • Walking

    If you are already nearby, you can walk to Waterworks Reserve. From the Ridgeway area, follow Ridgeway Road heading towards the reserve. It is well-signposted, and the walk is around 30 minutes from the nearest bus stop. Be prepared for some gentle slopes along the way.
