Bus
From Hallstatt, walk to the Hallstatt train station (Bahnhof Hallstatt). This is about a 15-minute walk from the center of Hallstatt. Once at the station, catch the bus number 542 towards Gosau. The bus ride takes approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Gosau, Ort', which is the main stop in Gosau. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the Gosaukammbahn cable car station. Just follow Gosauseestraße, and you will see the cable car station on your left.

Start from Hallstatt and walk to the Hallstatt train station. Take a train to the nearest station, which is 'Gosau', changing at 'Bad Ischl' if necessary. Upon arrival at Gosau station, transfer to bus number 542 and ride it to 'Gosau, Ort'. From there, walk about 10 minutes along Gosauseestraße to reach the Gosaukammbahn cable car station.
