Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to the center of Kaprun and follow the signs for Kesselfallstraße. Drive along this road for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful landscapes, and keep an eye out for the signs for the Hochgebirgsstauseen. Once you reach Kesselfallstraße 98, you will find the parking area available for visitors. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with change or a card.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Kaprun Hochgebirgsstauseen via public transportation, take the local bus service from the Kaprun town center. You can catch bus number 660 or 670 from the Kaprun bus stop. The ride typically takes about 10-15 minutes. Disembark at the 'Kesselfall' stop, which is the nearest bus stop to the Hochgebirgsstauseen. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to Kesselfallstraße 98. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as services may be limited in the evenings.

• Walking

  For those who prefer to walk and enjoy the scenery, you can start from the Kaprun city center and walk towards Kesselfallstraße. It is approximately a 30-minute walk (around 2.5 km). Follow the signs for Kesselfallstraße, and take in the beautiful views along the way. This route is pedestrian-friendly, but be sure to wear comfortable shoes as parts of the path may be uneven.
