Travel Guide to Friedhof St. Peter (Petersfriedhof)

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Salzburg's Old Town (Altstadt), head toward the Getreidegasse street, which is a famous shopping street. Walk straight until you reach the junction with the Linzergasse street. Turn left onto Linzergasse and continue walking until you reach the Salzach River. Cross the river using the Makartsteg pedestrian bridge. Once you cross the bridge, head straight and take a right onto Ignaz-Harrer-Straße. Walk until you reach Sankt-Peter-Bezirk, where you'll find Friedhof St. Peter on your left.

• Public Transportation

  From the Mirabell Palace (Mirabellgarten), take bus line 5 from the Mirabellplatz stop towards 'Salzburg, St. Peter.' Get off at the 'St. Peter' stop. After exiting the bus, walk about 5 minutes down the Sankt-Peter-Bezirk street until you arrive at Friedhof St. Peter, which will be on your right.

• Walking

  If you are near the Salzburg Cathedral (Dom zu Salzburg), exit the Cathedral and head toward the Residenza street. Walk straight to the narrow alley leading to the Sankt-Peter-Bezirk. Follow the signs for Petersfriedhof, which will guide you through the charming streets. The cemetery entrance will be on your left, just a short walk from the Cathedral.

• Walking

  From the Salzburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), walk to the bus stop and take bus line 3 towards 'Salzburg, Riedenburg.' Get off at 'St. Peter' stop. Then, walk down the Sankt-Peter-Bezirk street for about 5 minutes until you reach Friedhof St. Peter, located on your left.
