Walking
From the central square in Bruges, the Markt, head towards the northwest along the Steenstraat. Continue walking straight until you reach the canal. Cross the canal using the bridge on your right. After crossing, turn left and follow the canal path until you reach the main road, which is the Kortrijksepoortstraat. Turn right onto Kortrijksepoortstraat and continue straight until you reach the train station. At the train station, board a train to Ghent. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ghent station, exit and head towards the bus terminal. Take bus number 3 or 5 towards 'Gent Centrum'. Get off at the 'Botermarkt' stop. The Ghent City Hall will be directly in front of you.
Public Transport
From Bruges, make your way to the train station (Station Brugge). Purchase a ticket to Ghent. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ghent St. Pieters station, exit the station and follow the signs to the tram stop. Take tram number 1 towards 'Gent Dampoort'. After about 15 minutes, disembark at the 'Korenmarkt' stop. From there, it's a short walk: head down the street named 'Korte Koestraat' until you reach the Botermarkt. The Ghent City Hall will be right there at Botermarkt 1.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Bruges. Start from the Markt and head towards the Zuidzandstraat. Follow this street until you reach the ring road (R30), then follow the signs towards Ghent. The route is approximately 30 kilometers and will take about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Ghent, continue straight until you reach the city center. Follow the signs to the Botermarkt. The Ghent City Hall is located at Botermarkt 1, and you can easily spot it as you approach the square.
