Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the historic center of Ghent, you can easily walk to Stadshal. Start at St. Bavo's Cathedral (Sint-Baafskathedraal) located at Sint-Baafsplein. From the cathedral, head south towards the Graslei and Korenlei, two picturesque streets along the river. Walk along the river until you reach the bridge called the St. Michiel's Bridge (Sint-Michielsbrug). Cross the bridge and turn left onto the street named Groentenmarkt. Continue straight until you reach Poeljemarkt, where you'll find Stadshal, sitting prominently in the square.

  • Tram

    To reach Stadshal via tram, find your way to the nearest tram stop. If you are at the main train station (Gent-Sint-Pieters), take tram line 1 towards 'Bourgoyen' and get off at 'Korenmarkt' stop. From Korenmarkt, walk towards the river and head towards the Graslei. Continue to walk along the river until you see the St. Michiel's Bridge. Cross it, and then take a left onto Groentenmarkt. Stadshal will be on Poeljemarkt just a short walk ahead.

    If you're coming from a different area in Ghent, you can take a bus to the city center. Look for buses that stop at 'Korenmarkt' or 'St. Pietersstation'. Upon arriving at Korenmarkt, walk towards the river, then follow the instructions for tram navigation. Alternatively, from St. Pietersstation, you can take bus lines 38 or 39 to the city center and then make your way to Korenmarkt.
