Getting There

Walking
From the center of Orange Walk Town, head south on Main Street towards the junction with the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as Highway 1). Once you reach the highway, turn left and walk along the roadside. You will continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach the village of Crooked Tree. Look for signs indicating Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary as you approach the village entrance. Once you enter Crooked Tree, follow the main road until you see the sanctuary entrance on your right. The total walking distance is approximately 6-7 kilometers, so be prepared for a longer walk or consider taking breaks along the way.

Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Orange Walk Town. Start your journey by heading south on Main Street towards the Philip Goldson Highway. After reaching the highway, turn left and cycle along the roadside for about 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Crooked Tree. As you get closer, you will enter the village of Crooked Tree. Continue on the main road until you find the sanctuary entrance on your right. This route is about 6-7 kilometers, and biking will give you the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.

Local Bus
To reach Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary by local bus, walk to the bus terminal located near Main Street in Orange Walk Town. Look for buses heading towards Belize City, as they often stop at Crooked Tree. When you board the bus, inform the driver that you want to get off at Crooked Tree. The bus ride takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Crooked Tree, walk along the main road until you see the sanctuary entrance on your right. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips.
