Car
If you are driving from Jakar, the capital of Bumthang Valley, take the road heading south towards Phobjikha Valley. The journey is approximately 70 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. As you drive, enjoy the scenic views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Once you reach the junction near Phobjikha, follow the signs directing you towards Gangtey. The lodge is located just below the monastery in Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley). Look for the lodge on your right as you descend towards the valley.

To reach Gangtey Lodge via public transport, you can take a bus from Jakar to Wangdue Phodrang. Buses typically depart from the main bus station in Jakar. The bus ride to Wangdue Phodrang takes around 3 to 4 hours. From Wangdue Phodrang, you will need to hire a taxi or a local driver to take you to Gangtey Lodge, which is about 30 km away and will take around 40 minutes. Be sure to negotiate the fare with the driver before starting your journey. The total cost could be around 1,500 to 2,000 Ngultrum for the taxi ride.
