Getting There

Walking
From the center of Thimphu, start at the Clock Tower Square, which is a well-known landmark. Head northeast on Norzin Lam towards the Bhutan Post Office. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Chhoten Lam. Turn left onto Chhoten Lam and continue walking. You will pass several shops and cafes. Keep walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Tashichho Dzong, which will be on your right-hand side. As you approach the Dzong, look for a pathway leading up to the viewpoint on the hill just beside the Dzong. Follow this path, and it will lead you to the Tashichho Dzong Viewpoint, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Dzong and the surrounding area.

Alternatively, if you are near the Zilukha area, you can start from the Zilukha Nunnery. From the nunnery, head down the path towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk towards Tashichho Dzong. You will notice signposts directing you to the viewpoint. Follow the signs and the well-trodden path leading up the hill.
