Getting There

Self-drive

Most visitors drive to Rooiputs Lodge. From Upington, South Africa, it's approximately 250km on a tarred road to Twee Rivieren. Then, continue for 22km on a gravel road to the Rooiputs turnoff. The final 2km to the lodge requires a 4x4 vehicle. Ensure you have enough fuel and supplies, as services are limited in the area. Park entrance fees are payable in Botswana Pula (BWP). As of July 2025, park entrance fees are P190 per adult per day and P75 per vehicle. Remember to keep your park entry ticket with you at all times.
Fly-and-Transfer

Guests can fly to the Two Rivers airstrip and arrange for a transfer to Rooiputs Lodge. Contact the lodge in advance to arrange the transfer. This is the easiest way to access the lodge. Prices vary depending on the transfer. Contact the lodge for more information.

Tashebube Rooiputs Lodge is located on the Botswana side of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, approximately 25 km north of Two Rivers. The lodge is situated on a vegetated red sand dune, providing panoramic views of the acacia savannah and grassy plains. This remote location offers a unique opportunity to experience the stark beauty and solitude of the Kalahari Desert.The lodge features eleven chalets, including a family unit and a luxury desert suite, all built on raised wooden decks. The chalets are constructed with a mix of wood, thatch, canvas, and glass, and are decorated to reflect the rich ethnic textures of Southern Africa. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a private deck with views of the surrounding landscape.The main lodge building includes a spacious lounge area, a bar, a comfortable dining room, and a reading area. Guests can enjoy game drives, nature walks, and stargazing. The lodge also has a plunge pool for cooling off during the hot summer days. The Rooiputs area is known for its excellent predator sightings, including lions, leopards, and hyenas. The lodge is eco-friendly, utilizing solar power and promoting recycling and water conservation.
